How I build
Privacy affects how the software works.
When an app reads personal conversations, where the processing happens matters. So does what it gets wrong.
Process messages on your device.
BeeOkay and Pingworthy run message analysis locally on your Mac. They don’t need to send those conversations to a cloud AI service for analysis.
Show where a conclusion came from.
A suggested concern or task should link back to the message that supports it. You need to be able to check what was said, who said it, and whether the software understood it correctly.
Make mistakes correctable.
People joke, change plans, quote each other, and leave things unsaid. The software will get some of that wrong. You should be able to correct an interpretation and see when an analysis failed.
Explain the limits.
Local analysis and device sync are separate features. I’ll describe what each release supports, what leaves a device, and what still needs a connection. A working demo isn’t proof that an app works in every situation.
